About Me February 8, 2008
I often tell people that my current profession is the furthest thing from what I studied in college. As time goes on, however, I realize that they are not that distant at all. I graduated American University with a B.S. in Psychology. It was during my four years there that I confirmed my desire and passion to work with people, yet not in the mental health field. Simultaneously, I started attending yoga classes at the local fitness center. I discovered something through those classes that I knew was vitally important to my life and could intensely benefit others. After a few years of taking classes, I felt propelled to teach what I was learning to the people in my community.

I obtained a teaching certification from YogaFit®, a company geared towards the health club and gym populations. Shortly thereafter, I moved to south Florida and got acquainted with Gary “Gopal” Bello (www.gopalgarybello.com), a yoga and meditation teacher and Consciousness Coach™. In the course of a year, I trained with Gary and completed an intense advanced yoga teacher training. This included concentrated study of the physical body, the mind, nutrition, yoga and meditation.

Along with yoga instruction, Gary Bello educated me in a program that he developed called Essence Therapy. A bridging of the teachings of yoga and meditation with modern theories of western psychology, the Essence Therapy program is a holistic approach in balancing the physical, mental and emotional well being of an individual. The program applies techniques of yoga therapy, breathing, meditation, nutrition, and utilizing the mind-body connection to coach individuals in bringing harmony to these areas of life.

With the education I have received, as well as the journey of my own personal growth, I have come to recognize certain practices that truly enhance the quality of one’s life. I offer “Wellness Coaching” in order to bring my knowledge and awareness to those in my community.
